In March 2001, an international conference “What price national security?” has been held in St. Petersburg. The conference was organized by the Regional Press Institute in cooperation with the Freedom Forum, brought together more than 350 participants – representatives of various groups of civil society, government institutions and journalists from Russia, Europe and the United States – and attracted international attention.
Today, 20 years later, the problem of civil liberties and national security is even more urgent. Therefore, we want to hold an online conference on the same topic in order to discuss what cost society is ready to “pay” for national (state) security.
The conference will take place on March 2, 2021 from 11:00 till 17:00 MSK (09:00 – 15:00 CET) with two breaks.
Time limit: presentation 15 minutes, answers to questions 5 minutes.
The working languages of the conference are Russian and English with simultaneous interpretation.
